WEEK 12 REFLECTIONS FROM THE #NEXTERNSHIP INTERNS

Every week we will post a quick roundup of lessons learned during this past week's work by each of our #Nexternship interns. We hope that even though YOU are not able to be Jenny's intern, you can learn through our fearless team! Every week, they answer three of the same questions. SOAK IN THE GOODNESS. Read more about them here.

  1. What made you feel uncomfortable this week and why? What can you do differently next time, if anything?
I wrote about this before, but work-life balance is something that has me puzzled. How do people do it? How can people work a full-time job and have friends and still be well-rested? I just came back from a weekend trip that, of course, lasted the entire weekend. Though I had fun, I am now back in my room pondering about all the tasks I was supposed to complete over the past couple of days. At the same time, I know it's important to make sure I'm doing the social activities I want to do as well. SO HOW DO PEOPLE DO IT. I NEED SLEEP. I NEED WORK. I NEED PLAY. HELP.

  2. I didn’t know that I didn’t know…
Statistically speaking, the commute is the least favorable part of a working person's day. I definitely fall in favor of this statistic.

  3. What else did you learn this week that will be helpful to other people who are interested in pursuing the entertainment industry?
Learn how to take direction. Learn how to give direction. You can practice this with different baking recipes. Trust me.

  1. What made you feel uncomfortable this week and why? What can you do differently next time, if anything?
My new job is great!!! But the change of environment, responsibility, and schedule has been NERVE-WRACKING. The anxiety brought on by this new change has made me feel physically ill for multiple days. I'm talking bubble guts, belching, head aches, and don't even get me started on vagina's PH level :( With time, I'll get used to this new environment. I am adaptable and have a very supportive work place!

  2. I didn’t know that I didn’t know…
That failing a class is not the end of the world. Well, I did know that, but as a former overachiever, I need to keep reminding myself of that. I'm not planning on going to grad school and I already nabbed a cool entry level job at a production company, so .... straight A's don't need to be my priority right now.

  3. What else did you learn this week that will be helpful to other people who are interested in pursuing the entertainment industry?
If you're in charge of Crafty, BE PREPARED FOR comments, "suggestions", complaints, praise, and late requests.
